Pear-apple goo.

Pear- apple -Goo:  1 gallon Pears peeled and chopped

1 gallon apples peeled and chopped

Sprinkle about 1/4 gallon of granulated sugar over the

pears and another 1/4 gallon of sugar on the apples, which

should be in separate bowls.  Let sugar and fruit stand over

night.

In the morning combine the fruit and sugar mixtures in a

large kettle and add 1 quart of crushed pineapple. Simmer

about 6 hours or until the mixture is thick.  (Be careful

not to scorch the fruit and sugar as it thickens.

Add 2 teaspoons vanilla and 1 tsp. cinnamon and continue

simmering until mixture is a rosy dark color.  Pack and seal

in sterilized jars.  Makes about 6 quarts.

You might be able to use the pear mixture only with

the cinnamon and vanilla to make pear honey.
